LEARN MORE

What is Rasa Yoga?

Rasa Yoga is a contemporary school rooted in tradition and shaped by lived experience. It honors the philosophical and Tantric foundations of yoga while remaining committed to sacred activism.

We integrate Asana, Mantra, Mudra, Mythology, Pranayama, Meditation, Functional Anatomy, Tantric Philosophy, and Shadow Work. It is a path of embodied inquiry and refined teaching.

Rasa is a Sanskrit word meaning "essence, flavor, nectar, and fulfillment of the soul."

Connection

The verbal root of yoga is yuj, meaning “to connect, to join, to yoke.” Yoga is, at its heart, a practice of connection.

In this training, we study both the physical and philosophical teachings of yoga to explore how this tradition invites deeper connection to ourselves, to one another, and to something larger than us.

Pulsation

In Rasa Yoga, we “pulse the opposites” to meet life in its full spectrum and cultivate balance, resilience, and vitality.

Throughout the training, we explore the dynamic dance of form and flow, fire and nectar, art and science, ancient and modern. This allows you to develop a wide range of tools to support your personal practice and your teaching.

INTEGRATION

This program is designed to support integration — bringing together the teachings of yoga with your own embodied wisdom and lived experience.

You will be invited to step more fully into your authentic self, whether or not you plan to teach. The work here is about embodiment, clarity, and learning how to live and lead from what you know in your bones.

Is this training for you?

  • Are you curious about the philosophy beneath the poses?

  • Do you want to understand yoga beyond choreography?

  • Are you ready to refine your practice with intelligence and nuance?

  • Do you feel the pull to teach — and want to do it well?

  • Are you seeking a grounded, thoughtful community?

Here's the truth:

The Rasa Yoga 200-hour Teacher Training is more than a certification.

It’s a serious, immersive process that shapes how you practice, how you teach, and how you show up.

This training integrates sophisticated biomechanics and functional anatomy with Tantric philosophy, meditation, mantra, shadow work, and refined teaching methodology. The result is an experience that strengthens your practice while developing your clarity, leadership, and presence — both on and off the mat.

TELL ME MORE

I felt at home for maybe the first time ever. Greta, the teachings of Rasa, and the dear friendships I've made have been one of the greatest blessings of my life. What Past Graduates are Saying...

From Michele:

"Greta is a dynamic teacher, who skillfully integrates the yogic philosophy and practices with her experience and wisdom, in a beautiful, meaningful and accessible way. One of the elements of Rasa Yoga that resonates with me is the invitation to embrace all of life, and extract the blessings from life's hardship. I found the training to challenge me in the best of ways, through the various opportunities to play my edges, face my fears, be curious about my discomfort, and know myself on a deeper level, all of which helped me to grow in my personal life and as a teacher of yoga."

From Irie:

"My experience with Rasa Yoga Training was transformative. As a black woman, I was drawn to their active role in social justice and cultural appreciation vs appropriation. Their all-encompassing training program was exactly what my soul needed. My whole world has shifted to higher states of consciousness since I completed their training. Their genuine allyship inspires me to be the best yogi I can be both in teaching and in my own practice. Greta and Sianna are truly a gift to humanity. I’m so grateful to share this time and space with these women."

Her teaching weaves together creative asana, functional movement and biomechanics, mantra and mudra, breathwork, lunar rhythms, and yogic wisdom for modern life. Each class is an invitation to meet the fullness of yourself — light and shadow, strength and softness — within a grounded, inclusive, and empowering container.

Greta is currently completing a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology, a path that continues to inform her relational, embodied, and trauma-aware approach to teaching. She has lived and taught internationally and now calls West Seattle home. When she’s not teaching or studying, she can often be found traveling, listening to live music, spending time near the ocean, or road-tripping with curiosity and wonder.
